The Fuji system AF is just poor. Sony and Canon have the best AF currently, but you have to learn to love the Sony cameras. Very irritating menus and sensors are so prone to dirt. Currently loving my R5.
I always wanted to love Fuji but damn why can’t they fix the focusing.
Why not use a base plate? It’s useful as well as protective. Lim’s in Korea make the best quality cases. Expensive but better than the rubbish Chinese stuff
Focus on the Fuji system just isn’t good enough. i had XT-3 and until last week the X100v. The results are nice if you don’t need fast focus. Canon R5 is streets ahead for focusing.
I have bought so many grey imports. D850, 5D3 and dozens of lenses Including RF £2<<< lenses. Never had a problem and I saved multiple 1000s. For me it’s a no brainer. I use E-infin or Panamoz. Waiting for my 85 1.2 RF arriving tomorrow from Panamax at a saving of £600
I owned two versions of these. What awful cameras they were. Really irritating menu options and far too small and fiddly. get a slightly bigger camera and there are much better options than these awful cameras.
I owned the Tamron before moving to an R5. I thought it was a terrific lens. Definitely an upgrade on the Canon lens. Also beautifully made. The current Tamron lenses are great
Get yourself a D700. It was a revelation when it came out. Miles ahead of the D90 or D300. Plenty of sensibly priced lenses available used on eBay together with a used D700. Try a Nikon 35-70 2.8. Beautiful metal lens for peanuts. I now have a Canon R5 but I miss those fabulous Nikon older metal...
