I've recently started to enjoy macro photography and have been amazed with how well the G16 has performed, I can focus to with 1cm of the scene and some of the photos I've been really pleased with, however, I don't seem to be getting anywhere near the quality with my canon 40d and sigma 17-70...

Thanks guys for your help, the photos probably weren't the best example and I've processed all the others. I will post again in this thread if it happens although I will try what you have suggested. thanks again for your help.

An example however not the best they usually are flatter than the first pic the second I have obviously adjusted in ps as an example I know its rubbish
