Backing up memory cards without a PC

I shoot with a D810 that uses a CF and a SD card. I rarely travel with my laptop and am always worried about losing images if the camera gets stolen or the cards fail when I am travelling. Does anyone know of a back up device that I can stick the card into and it copies to the internal memory or...

    Cuba - advice

The B&W picture of the lady in the white dress on stage looks like Omar’s Portuondo - lucky you getting to see her live, she’s 91 and was a close friend of the legendary Ibrahim Ferrer. I have a couple of her albums, amazing voice.

    Grays Of Westminster - jokers?

I’ve done a couple of trade ins and sales with Greys. I have always been there in person, got a price for cash and then Got them to up it for a trade in. Greys are one of the few places that will take Nikon film cameras. I have also used Camera Jungle and MPB, both offer good prices and they had...

    Any New York experts?

Been to NYC many times, just don’t flash anything valuable and ignore the beggars etc and they will ignore you eventually. 6am is fine on the subway and the Brooklyn end of the bridge is very trendy now. Don’t forget a walk through Williamsburg for some great street shots and go to to B&H Photo...

    Cuba - advice

I have travelled extensively in Cuba. The camera you take will cost the average Cuban 2 years wages so I strongly suggest you don’t flash it around, I carried my Nikon DSLR in a daysac that I strapped to my chest rather than on my back. I also used a neck wallet but I had no problems whatsoever...

    Ffordes

I have both sold to and bought from Ffordes. Easy to deal with, money and goods sent promptly. Biggest problem I had was understanding the heavy Scottish accent of a member of staff there! Would certainly use them again.

Could not even take a photo of my own arm...

5 or so years ago I had a biopsy on my left leg. The female Surgeon asked if I wanted the wifi password for the private hospital where I was having it done so that I could live stream it on Facebook or make a recording Of the procedure for YouTube. She didn’t care as long as her face and that of...

    Non UK African Safari

I did the northern circuit in Tanzania in December 1999 which was wonderful. Followed by a week in Zanzibar. Take a couple Of big lenses, the Sigma 150-600 would be a good lens for a safari trip. And ensure you have good security. I had a gun pulled on me in Dar es Salaam. Thankfully he was...
