    Manfrotto 190 MF4

Amazing! Thank you, your images speak more than a thousand words! Did you use it with wide angle lenses for some landscapes? Now I'm sure it's very rigid for horizontal frames. Did you try it in vertical with a smaller lens? Thank you.

Which Manfrotto head for my gorilla pod?

I tried my 486rc2 and it's very good with gorillapod. I think it's a good choice, as a lighter ball head.

    Nikon D50 Operating temperature.

I've used a D50 for a year. I used it in all climatic conditions, -5 °C too. It works fine! The only problem is the battery, as all the batteries of all devices at low temperatures: it ends very rapidly...So take with you a second battery under your coat ;)

    Filters

Try a 3 stop ND filter for waterfalls and a 2 stops ND grad for a general use in landscapes...;)

    Filters

For waterfalls you should obtain long shutter speed, so it will be precise a 2 or 3 stops ND. In order to obtain the correct exposure for a bright sky in a landscape I'd buy a ND grad set of 1, 2 and 3 stops. At the moment I owe a 1 and 3 stops...I use 1 stop ND grad in daylight for a better sky...
