One thing I find is that they look better (in my opinion at least) desaturated slightly. I tend to shoot 7 exposures in raw, combine them in Photomatix and tweak in Photoshop. Check out my blog post at http://www.driftbloggers.com/2011/drifting/bunny-bounces-back/ to see how I do some of mine.
