I could not have said it better. Don't let some hack tell you that your art isn't any good. If you are struggling and feeling rudderless why not try taking a class, or finding a new mentor?

I have cs6 and it's really easy to use. I've heard there isn't much difference between the two and I didn't notice any "steep" learning curve. I'm not particularly good with image editing either, it was just a lot of trial and error, but there are so many books, or guides online you can learn...

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure having some assistance from someone with first hand experience will go a long way.

I believe there is a way to do it right from the program. If it is possible I'm sure a quick Google search would explain how.
