Quick update. I just got off the phone to the Canon Service Centre (the number above). The lady said you just post them your lens with a covering letter, explaining what you need, then they will email/call you with an estimate. If you're happy to go ahead, they have a 5-10 day turnaround...

Hey all, I've recently bought a 2nd hand Canon L lens, and it's super tatty. I'd like to have it refurbished to sort the less-than-smooth zoom twist, and if possible, clean up the front glass as it's slightly scuffed. Is this possible to get done, or do I just have to live with it? Ta -a
