Wondershare Filmora is a great, reasonably priced option and comes with lots of built in effects etc.
Davinci Resolve is more complicated to use but it's very powerful and completely free.
I use Filmora for quick, simple edits with nice transitions and title screens etc and Resolve for more...

I've owned the original A7 for about 4-5 years now and it still gets some use every now again. Main camera is A7rii which I love (although acknowledge it has it's faults) and also use A6500 for video too.
