    Football Photography

Not been there for a while, but do you still get the buffet pre-match, and fish and chips after in the press room?

    I need help...

I need help chosing a new camera bag. There are a number of different criteria which need to be met and I would really appreciate it if people could suggest different bags which may be suitable. It preferably needs to be a soft bag and also fit within the hand luggage constraints as it will...

    Sigma 120-300 Owners.

I use for sports photography - mainly football. My opinion of it is great. Nice and sharp, bokeh is great, AF is fast enough. IMO this is a great lens, and the versatility of the zoom beats the 300 2.8 for me. This is a great lens and is my favorite at the moment. Better than any lens I...

    Any info about www.onestop-digital.com

Can't fault them at all. Ordered lenses from them and had them delivered very quickly and no problems with VAT. Had cracking copies of lenses from them as well! Big thumbs up for them from me!

How many keepers do you have?

I do all PP - usually only slight crop and boost contrast then sharpen. Takes all of 30 seconds really. Then uploaded to the agency who do nothing to it. It used to be a lot lower, but a lot of practice means that I dont press the shutter unless its within my range and will be worth PPing and...

How many keepers do you have?

Depends what I'm shooting: Sports - 1 in every 4 gets PPd and then uploaded to the agency for whom I work Everything else - 1 in 15 get PPd and I am happy with - don't ever end up doing anything with them though! :'(

Sigma Lens - good copy or not?

Cheers PD - sent a PM. Not sure if I'm expecting too much from a 100% crop or whether it really is slightly underperforming? Looking forwards to comparing to the sharpness of your NEF :D

Sigma Lens - good copy or not?

Two weeks ago I bought my first 2.8 glass. A Sigma 120-300 2.8 for WHE. I had high hopes for the lens and will be using it for sports photography. On my first assignment some of my shots were suprisingly unsharp and all required at least 50% sharpening (even though shot in jpeg) to be...

Didn't have my camera with me. Aaargh!

Argh! How frustrating! Must have been amazing to see it happen all the same though. Had you have taken your camera gear with you it probably would never have happened! Sods law and all! Unlucky mate, you wont make the same mistake again and I'm sure it would take a mistake like that on...

    How do professional sports photographers?

Ah ok. Again, thanks. I was worried that they may presume all of their photographers would have donkeys years of experience in such file transfers. Hopefully if I am fortunate enough to find some more work in this area and immediate processing of images is required, then I would be given help by...

    How do professional sports photographers?

Ah ok. That makes more sense then as well. I appreciate that newspapers don't need that large file sizes, but agencies such as getty, action images, and the likes of them, the photographers have images uploaded from the first half before half time even starts! All of the images on there tend...

    How do professional sports photographers?

Ahh ok. So when you export it from lightroom how do you make the description remain intact? What export presets do you need? Also description wise there are some things that they do. I think tobers posted something about it in the sports section, but so they can write in the description...

    How do professional sports photographers?

what size do you send the images then? Is that not a LOT slower than sending it FTP if you need large images?

    How do professional sports photographers?

Ahhh, that makes sense now actually I think. So the agency would then give the details of the server location and then the ftp client (e.g. filezilla one?) can be linked to this and then finished images just dragged and dropped into there and thats it pretty much? How do all the images...

    How do professional sports photographers?

I had a quick question that after some searching on the internet I have not found an answer, so I thought I would ask on here to see if anybody knew the answer! Basically when working for an agency or newspaper, the photographers are uploading their photos during the game whilst taking more...
