You'll get very little for that money. If you're looking at TSE lenses then you need a lot more. You can achieve much of what a TSE lens will give you using Photoshop Transform, but not all.

It's my understanding that polarisers only work to reduce reflections when photographing at an angle to the glass, not straight on.

I recently got a LUMIX L15 and it's great. Lacks a viewfinder, but very pocketable, with a 1" sensor it gives good quality too.
