There are some stunning images on that site, but I wouldn't necessarily say that they aren't traditional, they've just had a bit of creative flair added. You're equipment list should be ok, although if you feel that you need something extra, you always have the option to hire a lens or two.

Has anyone seen how much the grip is priced at? Warehouse express are listing it at £349!!

I tend to find that I'm my biggest critic, but then I suppose that is what keeps me motivated to keep taking better photos. I have lots of photos that I have taken that I'm proud of, but I always look at them and think I could of done better. Doesn't mean I'm being modest, just striving for...

Pay the extra and get a proper Nikon one, you won't regret the extra spent. I've learnt the hard way that cheap ones are cheap for a reason. ;)

I've not got a D700 ( yet! ), but went from a Fuji S5 to a Nikon D80, hoping to get a D700 come Jan/Feb time. Think I'm probably going to have to get a "cheap" lens to start with, either a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 or a 85mm f1.8 Any comments on either lens choice?

3:2 is the "normal" ratio that most DSLR's shoot in. Means you can print 6x4, 9x6 etc

Funnily enough I'm in a similar position ( not a student though ), I'm looking at upgrading my D80 to a D700, hopefully looking to get one in Jan, probably a used one, they seem to go for about £1300 on eBay , and I've seen them go as low as £1150 on here. The only problem I have, is no lenses...

Didn't the RAF photographers once deal with recon photos and the like? Or am I showing my age now?

Lexar are supposed to be another good make. I think sometimes it pays to pay a little extra.

Hiya, Currently watching a lens on eBay, and it is listed as having 2 small ( 2mm ) patches of fungus near the perimeter of the front element ( on the inside ), I've spoken to Tamron Servicing, and they've said it can be expensive to clean/repair, and they can't guarantee that it won't come...

I recently bought a Trancend Class 6 8GB SDHC card, and I'm having to return it due to the data constantly being corrupted. Not had a problem with my Sandisk ones.
