I use Firefox with the adblock extension and never had a single pop up on any website. Firefox is much more secure than internet explorer and I love it!

Has AVG not Has AVG not recently had a major update? This could explain the problems. If you wish to keep your AVG uninstall it and get the latest version from their website.

Seems like an ad blocker of some sort on your pc. Ditch internet explorer and install firefox 3 as its far superior to internet explorer!
