Polaroid film - immersed in room-temp water immediately after taken - likely effects?

This is another problem that I need to solve but more of a 'mechanical' one than necessarily a 'photography-specific' one. I'm going to test the camera I have but I'm reasonably confident that by starting it at 'room temperature' and packing it in lots of good-quality insulation I can keep it...

Polaroid film - immersed in room-temp water immediately after taken - likely effects?

Hi, Realise this is a slightly odd question, thought I'd ask it here first before buying a polaroid camera and finding out it doesn't work anyway! :) I'm working on a project where I need to (remotely) take a polaroid photo in a very cold environment (down to -50C). In order to prevent the...

    Lightest Polaroid camera available?

Slightly odd question but I thought I'd ask it anyway. I'm working on a project that needs an 'old school' polaroid camera to shoot using Impossible Project film (so either 600 type or SX-70). Of the cameras that shoot these films, can anyone recommend what would be the lightest (i.e. lowest...

Kodak Ektapro 35mm slide projector - really dim image?

The projector is a 3020 which I think is the most basic model? I had a look on the tray and can't how the mirror would be controlled (there doesn't seem to be any motor attached to it or anything). I think jamming it forward (gaffer tape on the back) might be the best 'quick fix' :)

Kodak Ektapro 35mm slide projector - really dim image?

Hi all, thanks for the replies so far. I took the lamp tray out of the projector this evening and had a look at everything. The lamp looks find and the lens and heatshield both look good as well (no dust, no damage). One thing I did notice is that there's a mirror on a pivot that looks like...

Kodak Ektapro 35mm slide projector - really dim image?

Thanks for the replies! No problem with stating the obvious :) I've no idea whether the lamp is in the right place , I can open the projector and check though (is it likely to be obvious if it is or not?) The model is the 3020, it does have two settings for the lamp brightness which I can...

Kodak Ektapro 35mm slide projector - really dim image?

Not many people seem to use slides these days, hopefully someone here can still help me though :) I bought a Kodak Ektapro slide projector on eBay recently (sold as working and with a new lamp just fitted). I've just tested it and everything seems to work except the projected image is...

Fashion shoot (menswear) in London - location suggestions?

Hey, Having just moved to London I'm still finding my way around but was hoping I could get some 'local knowledge' here? A menswear designer has asked me to do a shoot for him (this is the guy and his style: http://lookbook.nu/nikhilsharma), he's keen to avoid the typical 'Shoreditch...

Just moved to London, need to kick-start my portfolio

Hey, Having had precious little free time while I finished my last year at Uni, I've now moved to London from the North East of England, blown the dust off my camera and I'm keen to start taking shots again. The problem: besides the obvious 'tourist' places, I've no idea where is good to...

Next step up from Nikon D70 - D300?

Hey, Thanks for all the replies! The D7000 is an interesting option actually and one I hadn't actually considered (possibly put off by the 'consumer' tag attached to it by Nikon). From briefly researching it online it seems that the D7000 is better in low light/high-ISO settings than the D300...

Next step up from Nikon D70 - D300?

Hey, I'm busy scouring the internet for as much information as I can find, I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me by sharing their experience also? I have a Nikon D70 at the moment, I've had it for years and like it but I'm looking to step up a grade. I have owned a D2X in the...

Macro photography without a macro lens?

Working in manual is no problem, I suspected that the cheap tubes wouldn't have any metering etc so I'm more than happy to experiment with apertures etc until I get a reasonable image (probably not so good for trying to capture shots of insects etc but not something I need to worry about)...

Macro photography without a macro lens?

Yeah, the links appear to have 'corrected' themselves, the ebay ones were £5.99 from Hong Kong, looked like they simply connected the lens to the camera body, the Jessops ones looked a bit fancier, just wanted to make sure that the ebay ones would fulfil their basic task. I'll be using a...

Macro photography without a macro lens?

Hey, Thanks for all your replies, good to know that there are solutions that don't require me splashing out on another lens I can't afford! I think the extension tubes are probably the way forward, I was wondering whether anyone could enlighten me on the difference between something like this...
