I use BenVista PhotoZoom. It is half the price of Topaz Gigapixel. I ran a comparison of them and decided that the marginal improvement was not worth paying for as I already had PhotoZoom

Given the right atmospheric conditions, I would say it was the lights of Manchester reflected off moderately low cloud.

I have VueScan which I use for both my Canon flatbed scanner and my Nikon film scanner. I find it very convenient to use the same software for both devices. Recommended.

Another vote for Affinity Photo. You can ger a free trial for 10 days from first use. There is also an excellent user forum.

My first thought was the Ingleton falls walk. Your attachment shows Thornton Force which certainly does have room for a model in front. My second thought was Aber Falls in North Wales. Again there is room for a model. Both of these are nearer 200 miles, but well worth the visit.

Lots of places. Try DxO for the Nik plugins (including Silver Efex), Topaz provides a good range as well. Just google photoshop plugins and you will be spoilt for choice. If you are unsure about a particular plugin, post a question about it on this forum and someone will be sure to respond.

The so-called Ant's Eggs are actually pupae and are around a few mm long and whitish. Good luck!

Our local Green Woodpeckers seem to be more attracted to our neighbour's lawn than ours. The only thing I can suggest is that you get some 'Ant's Eggs' from the local aquarium shop and lay a trail from the far to the near part of your lawn.

It would also help if we knew the location of your garden.

I have been using Affinity photo for several years now and have not looked back. Affinity supports many, but not all, PS plugins. I use Nik and Topaz a lot. It will work with the cloud but is not recommended. Files can get corrupted if the transfer is interrupted.

Having seen these photos, I am minded of a quote from the vintage radio programme Round the Horne: "I can hardly contain my indifference!"

I have always found ebay a reliable source. I have bought my camera and several lenses, no more than a few hundred pounds each, with no problems. The only problem I had was with an item of software that I thought was pirated. Ebay resolved this in my favour.
