I currently use a Sigma 150-500mm but having to stop down to f/8 to yield anything close to sharpness is predictably frustrating! It sounds as if my best option is either going to be the 300 f/4 or 400 f/5.6

Have tamron recognised that the AF seems vert hit and miss with this lens. Let's hope so and hope that they fix the issue!

This lens looks so promising but unless this tracking/AF issue is resolved I'm afraid I won't be buying one! As you say Simon very frustrating as this lens has such promise!!

I'm looking for a strap that is easily detachable so that when I mount my camera on a tripod the strap isn't in the way. I use a Sigma 150-500mm so a comfortable strap is important but it needs to easily be removed, via a buckle system or similar. Any recommendations? Alex
