Great use!

They are just a fun wee accessory but they do have a good use in that you can use them on a lens I.e. if you are doing video and want to keep the lens at a certain focal length then you can use the band to hold it and so that it doesn't move during focus

I'm a web designer and I have no idea what you are looking for? If you are wanting to create a web app you will need a web designer to design the front end and user experience and a developer to design the databases and do the back end work. I don't think you understand what it takes to build...

Tripods are far to limiting for motorsport - you could get away with a monopod. Ultimately I like to hand hold especially if you are going to be panning

Definitely in hand luggage! Those labels they put on your bags 'handle with care' are just for piece of mind. There is no harm in calling your insurance company telling them what you have and where you are taking it - just make sure you are covered! You probably won't need it in the end but...

HAHA! I imagine this has happened a few times - they have no idea! The staff seem to have no interest in photography and look more like greasy haired dodgy door to door salesmen

If you have no experience at all then maybe you should just go for an evening class then - Most towns or cities have photography clubs that will teach you and lots of togs offer courses and training (at least round my way) I'd prefer a club or training my self but if you are going to go down...

A certificate isn't going to get your jobs - your photographs are. So go along and have a word, speak to local photographers - some of them may do one on one training with you which would be more beneficial than a course. But it does depend what type of photography you want to do. Do you want...
