Looking for a bit of advice from those in the know please... At the moment my backup "routine" is somewhat err, useless... i've an external HDD and when I remember I back up onto there... Thing is, im staring to think how gutted/upset/annoyed i'd be if I lost all my pictures and music so...

5.6 at 400mm isn't that slow... and unless you have £1000s lying about your not going to get much faster. The 100-400 is a cracking lens... where are you based Andy, if your nearish to me you can try it out ;)

24 is wide on crop but you've got a 10-22 so that shouldn't matter. The 24-105 is a cracking lens.

100-400L is ideal.

Be prepared to be disappointed with the pictures you get... I just did Waddington and came away with a lot less then I hoped for...! Take lots, should get more keepers that way...! Props need slow shutter, I was using 1/100-1/160. Jets I was at 1/800-1/1000.

Thanks for that... just the metering bit.. I just can never get my head around it... when you say meter off your hand/grass etc what do I do... Put in manual... set say ISO 100... and then dial in the shutter speed and aperture so that the meter in the view finder is showing correct...

Sorry for such simple questions but... 1/500 and F8... set it to that and use the ISO to get it to meter correct? Also, you say "lock exposure" simple again but simply does that mean lock the ISO/Aperture/Shutter? Unlucky about the car... shame Doncaster isn't on my way, could of sorted a...

I remember seeing a pretty helpful thread about this but after searching I can't seem to find it? Im going to Waddington tomorrow, first time at an airshow and would obviously like to get some half decent pictures... What sort of settings should I be using?? I know that for prop blur...
