Thanks. I took about 100 shots and I think in total there are about 10 usable ones.
The smoke affected so many of the images.
It was fun though and I didn't get an ideal position either so overall i'm happy

Thanks or8it. I will give those a go tonight. I am going to head out past smeatons tower to get away from the crowds a little bit but still get a good view.

So as its my home town I am going to head down to get some photographs of the fireworks that are happening on Tuesday & Wednesday night in Plymouth.
I am looking for some advice on what best settings/set up to use to capture the best effects.

I did a bit of a test shoot last night. I took 15 shots on ISO 800 aperture of 6.3 and 30 second exposure continuous. I used startrax to compile the images and this is the result.

Meteor shower!!!
So I am thinking fo trying to get some shots of the meteor shower that is happening. I have heard that Monday of Tuesday next week is the best time.
Has anybody done anything similar as I would really appreciate some advice on settings to capture the best effect/picture.
So I have been thinking about purchasing a new lens and been toying with a wider range zoom such as the canon 18-200mm and the Tamron 18-270mm pzd but I have been generally put off by the reviews and comments about the IQ etc
